A Note To Teenage Me

Hi there Teenager! Whatsup?

I know you must be wishing everyone a Happy New Year in the timeline in which you exist. I guess sending text messages from your Moto Razr? You’ll be shocked though, in the years to come you’ll have a smartphone, basically a mini-computer.

Anyways, let’s get down to some pretty deep stuff. Love every bit of yourself teen. Don’t let what other people say to you affect you. For example, if someone tells you that you are boring, don’t stress over it. You don’t need to interact with them, they don’t make it into your future life anyways.

Don’t be sad about the way your older cousins treat you. They are not worth it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, you are on a different path. I’m telling you, you are a really cool human and you only realise it later. So, just be you at these events. And don’t feel bad about sticking to your mum at these get-togethers, it is absolutely fine.

Also, you don’t need to take shit from people. You can fight back, so stop giving people the benefit of the doubt and letting them get away with hurting you. Draw lines little one, you deserve the world. And always remember, it is ok to be alone. You have two beautiful souls in your life who mean the world to you. You know the one you are currently gushing over The Twilight series with? She’s your soulmate, so cherish these moments.

Also, look up BTS – they are a Korean boyband. They must’ve just debuted. I’m telling you, you’ll thank yourself later since you’ll have joined the Bangtan Sonyeondan life from the very beginning. Tell your soulmate too. Both of you’ll have become fans for life. Also, these boys have taken the world by storm, they are amazing.

Anyways Teenie, be happy and do stuff you want to do. Don’t let anyone dim your light. You realise this later and start doing things you love. For example – writing. Go for it, let people make fun of it. I’m telling you, your writing only levels up from there on.
