Lazy Saturday

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon. I was stretched out on the couch, watching funny BTS videos on Instagram and laughing to myself. Benjamin, my sweet little beagle, was curled up at my feet snoring loudly. I nudged him every now and then to stop him snoring, but he just woke up for a few seconds and went back to sleep, continuing with his sounds of deep slumber.

I knew Minseok was somewhere in the house because I could hear his music being played loudly on the sound system. And every now and then I heard him singing. He had an upcoming performance at an award show with his group, so I guessed he must’ve been practising for it.

*THUD*

I thought I heard a loud sound, like someone fell hard on the floor. But I guessed it must’ve been Min practising his choreography. So, I went back to scrolling through my Instagram feed and looking at BTS funny videos.

“Kenzzziiieeee”, I heard Min groan over the music.

I sat upright and turned towards his practise room.

“Min-Min?”, I called out loudly.

“Mackenzziee! Palli wah!”, he answered. He sounded like he was in pain.

I rushed to his room, sliding along the way because of my bunny slippers.

I found Min lying flat on his back on the floor, and Whiskey, our Doberman, licking his face.

“Min-Min! What happened!”, I yelled and sat down next to him. I tried to help him to a sitting position but he stopped me.

“Kenzie, wait, wait. It’s just a muscle spasm. This has happened after a long time. I just have to let it ease out”, he said and took both my palms in each of his and interlocked our fingers.

“Where does it hurt?”, I asked.

“My lower back”

“Better now?”

“It’s easing out, don’t worry”

Within 5 minutes he was able to sit up. I got a cushion and propped it against the wall so that he could support his back while sitting on the floor.

“Thanks babe”

I sat down next to him and he put his arm around my shoulder. I leaned into his side and unlocked my phone.

“Are you sure you’ll be alright?”

“Yes babe, don’t worry”

“Okayyyy”, I relaxed and opened up Instagram. I angled the screen so that he could see the posts too.

“BTS videos?”

“Yes, and you are going to watch the videos with me”

“Kenzie! You’re watching seven other boys with your boyfriend?!”, he feigned anger. He actually is a BTS fan like me.

“Yes, you love them”

“True, you may continue…”

While a video was buffering he spoke up, “Kenzie, I have a question for you…”

“Shoot”

“If you had to choose, who would you pick, Jin from BTS or me?”

I purposely didn’t answer.

“Kenzziiee!!! Answer me! Or wait, don’t answer, I’m not prepared for the answer” he joked.

I continued to stay quiet.

“Mackenzie? Seriously?”, now he was half-serious, half-joking.

“Ummmmm…..”

“OH MY GOSH. You would pick BTS Jin over me…”

“You know it’s always going to be you”, I laughed and turned to kiss him. But he turned away.

“I’m hurt”

“Oh, boo hoo”, I mocked him and turned back to the phone.

He suddenly gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I turned and saw him giving me his goofy smile.

I rolled my eyes and we continued to watch BTS videos while he rested his head on my shoulder.
