My Person – Mendonca

Hi Mendonca! Happy Birthday! This one is in honour of You – My Person. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

So, Mendonca and I have known each other since 2^nd grade. We weren’t close friends, but you could say we were friends. It was more like we knew each other existed and for a couple of grades we were in the same circle of friends.

Anyways, our epic friendship began years later, during our college days. We didn’t go to the same college, but we became really close. And you will be amazed at what brought us together, wait for it………. – TWILIGHT!

YES! This Vampire-Human-Werewolf love story was the beginning of ‘Our Story’. We watched the first movie  – Twilight –  at a friend’s (part of our trio) place and the rest is history. We immediately got the books and started reading.

In the beginning, our conversations were only centered around the Twilight series. We used to call each other and discuss sentences from certain chapters. Man, those days, we were constantly in Forks, *sigh* those lovely days.

That is why Twilight will always hold a special place in my heart – It’s because of you Mendonca. *mwah*

Gradually we started talking about our lives and we became each other’s confidants. There was a time in my life when I was completely broken. But she was there for me no matter what. I would call her and she would listen.

I used to call her for the most insignificant things that bugged me. She never turned me away. Like, if I didn’t tell her something, I would feel restless, this still holds true. But at that time, it was all thanks to her being there for me that I got out of that headspace. She was and still is my rock. *love you dude*

Anyways, let’s get back to a lighter scene. So, the both of us were into the show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ for a while. And that’s when we met Meredith and Cristina. We drew a lot of parallels to our friendship from this on-screen duo, at least during the earlier seasons of the show.  It is from here we got the term – ‘My Person’. You know you are my person right, Mendonca ❤

There is another duo that reminds me of us – Chandler and Joey, haha. I can’t pinpoint exactly which one of us relates to which character, but the two of us are in there somewhere (same goes for Meredith and Cristina). I see fragments of our friendship in these on-screen relationships.

Oh, I forgot to tell you dude, there is another friendship that reminds me of us – Min Yoongi and Kim Seokjin –  you know Jin right, that guy from BTS I’m crushing on (Will send you the clip that reminded me of us).

They were at Lake 192 talking about life, I’m telling you that could’ve easily been us. I guess, if that is really who they are, the four of us may actually be good friends. We are going to Lake 192 soon, ok? Araso?

The friendship Mendonca and I share is very rare and special. Ego has never and will never come between us. The happiness we feel for each other is so genuine and pure, it is untouchable. I know that no matter what happens, she will always be in my corner.

We go beyond friendship – we are soulmates. The wavelength we share is unique. There are times when I can’t put into words what I’m feeling, but Mendonca gets it. She gets exactly what is happening and says exactly what I need to hear.

If we end up getting partners, they need to accept this friendship we share. Mendonca is My Person, that’s it. She has a special place for herself in my life.

Dude, you know that right? With you, my shields are completely down (The Big Bang Theory reference), because I know you will never ever hurt me. I love you to infinity and beyond. Our friendship will go on forever and ever and ever, even into the afterlife.

So, Mendonca, I hope you like this tribute. You always praise my writing but I hope this one ‘Touches Your Heart’ (a Kdrama reference) – It’s my birthday gift to you! (It’s only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away – {Words-Boyzone})
