Trust – once broken it is very difficult to mend. That is why it is always a must to take your time when it comes to trusting someone. Be it a family member or a friend, let people earn your trust.
My trust was broken multiple times by almost every single person I looked up to. It was a very hard time to get through because you will never see it coming. And in hindsight, I could have avoided the pain of them hurting me if I had my shields up.
I trusted every single one of them so completely because I thought they would have my back in the same way I have their back. I thought they knew me and would not let lies sway their opinion of me. But I was sadly mistaken.
They would rather believe a lie than the truth because the lie was easier to accept. The truth was too disturbing for them to accept in their lives. So, people just disregard it and kick you to the curb.
I don’t want anyone to go through what I did, ever. I would rather have not learnt this lesson but it is what it is.
So, this is the life lesson – let people earn your trust.
